Exams: There will be three in-class exams and a cumulative final exam.  For some exams, or parts of exams, you may be prohibited from using your calculator, your calculator's memory may be cleared, or you may be assigned a calculator from the Mathematics Department.

Exam Forgiveness Policy: All exams must be taken in class on the announced dates. If you take all regular exams as scheduled, then the lowest one of the three scores will be replaced by your percentage score on the final exam, if this is to your benefit.

You will not be allowed to take any exam early or late for any reason. If you miss any of the regular exams for any reason (even a really, really, really good reason), your percentage score on the final exam will serve as your score for the missed exam(s), and only the missed one(s) will be replaced.

Quizzes: Beginning September 3rd, there will be a quiz almost every Wednesday. Your lowest two quiz grades will be dropped at the end of the semester. If you miss a quiz for any reason (even a really, really, really good reason), that is one of the grades that will be dropped. No makeup quizzes will be permitted.  For some quizzes, or parts of quizzes, you may be prohibited from using your calculator, your calculator's memory may be cleared, or you may be assigned a calculator from the Mathematics Department.

Homework: Homework assignments will be given each night. I will usually not collect the homework, but I reserve the right to do so. Any collected homework assignment grades will either be included in the quiz grade or counted as extra credit.  For homework problems, you are welcome to use whatever technology you feel comfortable with and are strongly encouraged to work with other students, come to homework help hours, and visit the math tutors.

Homework Checks: Beginning September 3rd, there will be a homework check almost every Wednesday.  A full explanation of homework checks is on the following page.  Your lowest two homework check grades will be dropped at the end of the semester.  If you miss a homework check  for any reason (even a really, really good reason), that is one of the grades that will be dropped.  To prepare for the homework checks, it is strongly recommended that you keep an organized notebook of your homework.  No calculators will be allowed during a homework check.  If you are viewing this document online, more information on homework checks can be found here.

Academic Integrity: Students are expected to be familiar with the Code of Academic Integrity in the Elmhurst College E-book and also with the statement posted at http://www.elmhurst.edu/~mth/acadint.html
