Hours: Listed on instructor's webpage.
Exams: There will be two regular exams and a cumulative final exam. There may be take-home portions to some or all of the exams. The take-home portions will contain very specific rules concerning what help, if any, you may get from outside sources. A violation of these rules is a violation of the College's Code of Academic Honesty detailed in the E-Book. Calculators will not be permitted on exams unless otherwise stated.
Exam Forgiveness Policy: All in-class exams or portions of exams must be taken during class on the announced dates. If you take both of the regular in-class exams as scheduled, then the lowest one of the two scores will be replaced by your percentage score on the final exam, if this is to your benefit.
You will not be allowed to take any exam early or late for any reason, even a really, really good reason. If you miss either of the regular exams for any reason, your percentage score on the final exam will serve as your score for the missed exam(s), and only the missed one(s) will be replaced.
Quizzes: There will be quizzes given throughout the semester. If a quiz is to be completed outside of class, the quiz will contain very specific rules concerning what help, if any, you may get from outside sources. A violation of these rules is a violation of the College's Code of Academic Honesty detailed in the E-Book. Your lowest two quiz grades will be dropped at the end of the semester. If you miss a quiz for any reason, that is one of the grades that will be dropped. No makeup quizzes will be permitted. Calculators will not be permitted on quizzes unless otherwise stated.
Homework: Homework assignments will be given each night. I will sometimes, with advance warning, collect and grade certain homework problems. For homework problems, you are welcome to use whatever technology you like and are strongly encouraged to work with other students, come to homework help hours, and visit the math tutors, however, the final product of any homework assignment that is turned in for a grade must be your own work. Turning in someone else's work as your own is a violation of the College's Code of Academic Honesty detailed in the E-Book. If you have any questions about how this policy applies to any particular assignment, make sure to come see the instructor for clarification before turning it in.
