Your technology account name and password are the keys to these information communication resources:
*Email (yourusername@elmhurst.edu) is for administrative as well as academic messages, for other email clients,such as outlook express or netscape, Email Clients.
*The Elmhurst College Intranet, where students, faculty, and staff can find forms, detailed course information, schedules, policies, forums, forwarding your email, and many other things.
*The A.C. Buehler Library, which is a gateway to numerous online research archives
*Blackboard, an "e-Learning" facility for accessing course assignments and subject matter
*Course-relate Web hosting, temporary file storage, and other technical resources where appropriate
*We advise against saving your password in any Public Computer Labs*
Note: Twig leaves a copy of your email messages on our mail server. Please delete unneeded messages.
Whenever you are prompted for your username or login name in accessing these resources, enter your Technology account name. Don't press enter to get to the Password Box. Use the Tab Key or your mouse. Be sure to type both your username and password in Lowercase Characters. If Caps lock is on, they won't be accepted.
Course-Related Web Hosting, Temporary File Storage, etc.
You can save files to your directory on our UNIX/Linux server. Your space on the server can also be used to create a practice Web site related to your course work. To do so, you'll need to use an FTP utility, Telnet or both. Visit CSTC Room 107 for printed instructions and other assistance.
