Callings for the Common Good Studies

Social Justice Studies

This area of study develops students’ knowledge of spiritual and theological groundings for serving “the Common Good” in socio-historical contexts, as well as developing one’s own faith-motivated sense of “calling” to professions of service or ministry in a particular cultural context.

As part of the requirements for a minor in intercultural studies, students enroll in two of the three following courses:

  • REL 281 Serving Society: Faith Perspectives
  • REL 371 South Africa
  • REL 280 Ministry: Callings and Practice

and

  • ICS 280/380 Intercultural Experiential
