Designed for students who may wish to combine specific aspects of other traditional majors in order to sculpt their own, personal liberal arts degree. While working with an academic advisor to ensure certain components are met, the interdepartmental major can be an exciting way to combine a variety of competing interests into a degree that speaks directly to who you are a citizen and professional.
By providing an opportunity to design a major that meets particular academic interests, the major consists of at least eight courses offered by two or more academic departments and fulfills the major, as a graduation requirement, without having to complete specific requirements for multiple majors in two or more academic departments. Procedures for designing an interdepartmental major are available from the Office of Advising.
Additionally, the College offers Interdisciplinary Communication Studies, an interdepartmental major that includes predesigned curricula.
