Your Elmhurst journey is about much more than courses and credits: it’s about defining your values, exploring your world, and preparing for a life of service, meaning and achievement. At Elmhurst, you’ll join a supportive community of individuals who are exceptionally committed to helping you reach your full potential—in college and in the world beyond.
Know yourself. Elmhurst will challenge you to consider and develop your deepest values. We help you to discover not only what you want to do in life, but also who you want to become. In the classroom, you’ll work closely with professors who love to teach, who take the time to get to know you and support you as you discover yourself and the world around you. With an average class of only 18 students, we offer an intimate learning environment that will help you to discover who you are, what you love, and how to apply your knowledge in the world. Beyond the classroom, our students explore their passions in more than 100 student organizations and activities—from the International Club to the Jazz Band to Habitat for Humanity to 20 NCAA Division III athletics teams.
Know your world. The best preparation for professional life in a global society is a rich and challenging undergraduate experience. Each of our 59 majors offers abundant opportunities to apply your knowledge in the real world, at home and abroad. You’ll have opportunities to engage in experiential learning in the Chicago area and around the globe. Many students participate in study-abroad programs in 44 countries or complete internships and service projects in places like New York, New Orleans and Washington, D.C. Elmhurst graduates thrive in a global society because they’ve learned to embrace new ideas, master advanced technologies, and create original solutions to problems new and old.
Reach your potential. You’ll start testing your knowledge in the world as early as your first year on campus. You might connect with a mentor to gather wisdom and know-how, or shadow accomplished professionals as they go through their work day. You’ll choose from more than 2,000 options for internships and other professional experiences. Our faculty and staff will help you write a resume, prepare for interviews, and launch your professional life.
Our graduates build successful careers in corporations, schools, medical centers, not-for-profit organizations, law firms, research institutions and many other professional venues.
