Apply to Elmhurst as a First-Year Student

At Elmhurst, you'll find everything you need to reach your full potential. Applying is easy, and there's no application fee.

Admission Criteria
We give preference to students who have completed 16 academic units, including three units of English; two units each of mathematics, laboratory science, and social studies; and seven units in additional college preparatory subjects.

How to Apply

  1. Complete the application for admission. You may apply online or download a paper application.
  2. Submit your high school transcript or GED test results.
  3. Submit your scores on the ACT or SAT, sent directly from the testing corporation to Elmhurst. (Our ACT code is 1020).
  4. Submit a recommendation by a member of your high school faculty (encouraged, but not required).

An essay and an interview are recommended, but not required.

Admission Calendar

Early Action* for Fall Term

Apply and submit all required documents by November 1.  Decisions will be sent in early December.  Students who also submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid between October 1 and November 1 will be sent their financial aid award with the admission nofitication.

*Early Action is non-binding.  Students admitted under Early Action have until May 1, 2017 to make a tuition deposit.

Rolling Admission for Fall Term

Applicants applying or completing applications after November 2 will be considered for admission on a rolling basis. For first-year students, admission decisions will go out beginning mid-December and continue thereafter.
