As an adult learner, you come to class equipped with knowledge and skills that enable you to learn at an accelerated pace. Elmhurst's new degree completion major in pre-clinical psychology offers a flexible way to meet your goals.
All classes meet in the evening.
You can complete your major courses in 12 months of focused study, or in two or more years of part-time work.
Several courses are offered in a hybrid format, mixing on-campus classes with online components.
Before starting the program, you must complete an Introduction to Psychology course. (Elmhurst offers this course during Summer Term.)
In addition to completing the major requirements, you'll fulfill integrated curriculum and elective requirements to earn the bachelor's degree (32 course credits/128 semester hours).
All courses are taught by the full-time and adjunct faculty of Elmhurst College. The faculty have extensive classroom and professional experience, and use cooperative learning and other active teaching styles suited to adult learners.
NOTE: Students in the pre-clinical psychology program should be at least 24 years of age. Program Directors reserve the right to admit students under the age of 24 who are qualified to meet the rigorous requirements of a degree completion program.
