Fixing Illinois: A Great State’s Problems and Promise
On Monday, November 11, Bill Brady will take part in the ongoing lecture series, Fixing Illinois: A Great State’s Problems and Promise at 7:00 p.m. in the Frick Center, Founders Lounge.
Brady currently serves in the Illinois Senate, representing the 44th legislative district. He serves as the minority spokesperson for the Committees on Insurance; Pensions and Investments; Public Health; and Revenue. He also serves on the Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability. Brady previously served in the Illinois House of Representatives, representing the 88th district, from 1993 to 2000. In 2010, Brady unsuccessfully ran as the republican nominee for Governor of Illinois.
Brady announced his 2014 candidacy for Governor of Illinois in June of this year and has said he will focus primarily on the State's numerous fiscal issues.
In June, Elmhurst College launched the lecture series Fixing Illinois: A Great State’s Problems and Promise, with the goal of starting an ongoing discussion about the challenges that Illinois faces, and empowering citizens to help address those challenges and move the state forward.
