Louder Than a Bomb
The National Council of Teachers of English Assembly for Research will hold its midwinter conference at Elmhurst College in January, making Elmhurst the first small liberal arts college in recent years to host the annual conference.
The conference aims to promote inquiry into literacy practices and to provide a forum for the latest research in the field. Dr. Ayanna F. Brown, an associate professor of education at Elmhurst College, is chair of the council for the 2013-2014 assembly convention year.
The campus community is invited to the conference's kick-off presentation on Friday, January 10, which will feature Young Chicago Artists group "Louder Than a Bomb!"
The kickoff presentation will begin at 5:45 p.m. and will be followed by a conference reception at 7:00 p.m. sponsored by Alzada Tipton, senior vice president for academic affairs and dean of the faculty. The presentation and reception will be held in the Founders Lounge of the Frick Center.
The conference will be held from Friday, January 10, through Sunday, January 12.
