In 1952, a small Appalachian coal mining town called the Burnt Part lost four men. Now, fifteen years later, the sons they left behind are outraged as the company announces they are ready to reopen. Set to a haunting bluegrass score by Nathan Tysen and Chris Miller (Tuck Everlasting), the boys set out on a journey of rebellion, loss, redemption and self-discovery to see to it that the mine never re-opens again.
