The demand for individuals skilled in digital cinema continues to grow as applications of digital film expand at a rapid pace. Innovations with computer editing, digital cameras and distribution channels, such as YouTube and Vimeo, have led to high-quality production at a lower cost, opening the field to aspiring filmmakers by providing the professional tools required to thrive.
Elmhurst’s certificate in digital cinema is designed for individuals who are interested in multimedia and filmmaking. This innovative program focuses on the future of narrative storytelling while students gain hands-on experience, working closely with faculty who are experts in the field.
As a digital cinema student, you’ll develop the skills required to create a digital film. You’ll explore technical aspects of video production with creative narrative skills, including cinematography, video editing, motion graphics, lighting and screenwriting. And you’ll emerge from the program with a strong foundation that will prepare you for a career in production within cinema, television and other forms of new media.
Offered in a hybrid format, the program combines on-campus and online learning allowing you to earn your certificate in as little as one year. Elmhurst also offers digital cinema as a concentration in the accelerated information technology program.
