Curriculum

The undergraduate-level certificate program in digital cinema at Elmhurst requires the successful completion of 5 courses for a total of 5 credits (20 semester hours).

The curriculum includes coursework that builds a solid foundation in digital filmmaking. Through examination, application and review, students learn about the core elements of the filmmaking process.

Program Format
As an adult learner, you come to class equipped with knowledge and skills that enable you to learn at an accelerated pace. This program is designed to meet your specific academic and practical needs and is intended for students seeking to complete a certificate program in digital cinema.

The undergraduate-level certificate program in digital cinema is in a hybrid format, combining on-campus and online learning. Classes are eight weeks in length and students can complete the certificate in as little as one year.

As a student in the program, you'll have access to professional quality HD camcorders with full manual control as well as industry leading non-linear editing software.
