Individuals interested in getting credentialed in the Illinois Birth–Three early intervention system as developmental therapists can take the required courses needed as graduate students at-large through this master’s program.

Courses Required for application to the Early Intervention Developmental Therapy Credential:

  • MEC 501 Early Intervention Methods 
  • MEC 503 Infant Assessment 
  • MEC 506 Development of Young Children B-5 Typical and Atypical 
  • MEC 528 Working with Families of Young Children Typical and Atypical in Community Relationships 

Courses Required for the Early Childhood Special Letter of Approval on an Early Childhood or Special Education Professional Teaching License:

  • MEC 507 Typical and Atypical Language Development of the Young Child /Emergent Literacy 
  • MEC 512 Early Childhood Assessment 
  • MEC 514 Early Childhood Special Education Methods
  • MEC 528 Working with Families of Young Children Typical and Atypical in Community Relationships 

To enroll, you must contact the School for Professional Studies. Approval of the graduate program director is also required.
