What if Illinet Online doesn't have the book I need? Request the book through interlibrary loan.

BasicBiosis and BioAgIndex ~ to access these databases, you'll need the authorization and password from the library. These are indexes only; there is no full text.
Annual Reviews: Biology ~ The library has access to a variety of annual reviews, including The Annual Review of Microbiology. The full text for the past five years can be accessed electronically via the Electronic Journal Collections section of the Electronic Journals and Newspapers page.

Academic Search Elite ~ contains both popular and peer-reviewed articles, many of which are full-text. To access it from off campus, go to Articles and Databases and choose Academic Search Elite from the alphabetical list.
Periodical Abstracts ~ some full-text articles are available from a variety of sources.To access it from off campus, go to Articles and Databases and choose Periodical Abstracts from the alphabetical list.

- How do I tell the difference between a peer-reviewed (or scholarly) journal and a regular magazine?

Chicago Tribune ~ full text of all articles. To access it from off campus, go to Electronic Journals and Newspapers and choose Chicago Tribune from the alphabetical list. You may also want to look at Accessing Library Resources from Off Campus.

Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe ~ all full-text newspaper articles. To access it from off campus, go to Articles and Databases and choose WilsonSelectPlus from the alphabetical list. You may also want to look at Accessing Library Resources from Off Campus.

NewsIllinois ~ full text of all articles. To access it from off campus, go to Electronic Journals and Newspapers and choose Chicago Tribune from the alphabetical list. You may also want to look at Accessing Library Resources from Off Campus.

How do I find out if the Elmhurst College Library has the journal I need?

Search for the journal title in Illinet Online.
For example, search for the title Journal of African History.
If you don't find the journal you need, take a look at our list Journals and Magazines Available Online. This list is available in the library. You can also call or email the reference department to inquire about a specific title or ask a question.
