Finding Scholarly Articles

BasicBiosis and BioAgIndex ~ to access these databases, you'll need the authorization and password from the library. These are indexes only; there is no full text.
Annual Reviews: Biology ~ The library has access to a variety of annual reviews, including The Annual Review of Microbiology, The Annual Review of Genetics, The Annual Review of Physiology, and The Annual Review of Ecology and Systematics. The full text for the past five years can be accessed electronically via the Electronic Journal Collections section of the Electronic Journals and Newspapers page.
Academic Search Elite ~ contains both popular and peer-reviewed articles, many of which are full-text. To access it from off campus, go to Articles and Databases and choose Academic Search Elite from the alphabetical list.

How do I find out if the Elmhurst College Library has the journal I need?

Search for the journal title in Illinet Online.
For example, search for the title Journal of African History.
If you don't find the journal you need, take a look at our list Journals and Magazines Available Online. This list is available in the library. You can also call or email the reference department to inquire about a specific title or ask a question.
