Using the I-Share Library Catalog

Use I-Share to find books held in the Elmhurst College library as well as books owned by 65 other Illinois libraries.

You can get to I-Share by clicking on the "Find Books and Media" button on the Library homepage, or by clicking the "I-Share Online " button on the Library homepage.

One of the quickest ways to search is to browse by subject. Enter a subject term (such as "interpersonal communication") in the search box, and in the "Search by" box, choose "Subject."

If you can't find books writtten specifically about your subject, you can always try an "Any Word Anywhere" search. Use quotation marks to restrict your search to a specific phrase.

If you can't find what you're looking for at our library, click here to see how you can search other local libraries and order books.

Note: If you find books that you need to interlibrary loan, order them as soon as possible!
They can take as much as 7-10 days to arrive.

  • Cinahl Plus with Full Text contains the full text of the American Journal of Speech-Language Pathology (1998-present) and Language, Speech, and Hearing Services in Schools (1997-present). Professional Speech-Language Pathology Associations on the Web

So you found an article, but it's not full-text. Now what?

Don't fret. Look for this button or this one next to the article citation on the search screen (this button isn't available in the Lexis-Nexis database). Clicking on this button will take you to a list of full-text sources, if available. If we don't carry the full-text article in another database, you'll have the option to check the catalog to see if we carry the journal in print, or order the article via Interlibrary Loan.
