My philosophy as a preservice educator is a work in progress. Every time that I step into a classroom, I learn something

more about myself and the teacher I someday hope to be. We, as teachers, wield a great amount of power. We have

the power to influence and shape the future of America. We should not accept this half-heartedly. I believe that every child

deserves the right to be treated with kindness and respect. Each child is an amazing human being with potential and desire to

learn.I believe that the journey of teaching will keep me searching for ways to motivate the untapped abilities that I know are

there just beneath the surface. As a teacher, I will serve as an example to my students. I will model the behaviors that I

expect from my students daily. As a teacher, I will strive to: provide a safe environment that is conducive to learning, treat

students with equal respect, become an advocate for my students, set a good example for my colleagues by remaining a

professional at all times, and provide authentic and meaningful experiences for my students. However, the greatest gift that I

can give to my students will be to continue my education and remain a life-long learner.
