Students are all unique individuals and they all bring something
special into the classroom. It is my job as a
teacher to make sure that every student feels that they contribute to the climate of the classroom. It is my job to
figure out what their special qualities are and help that
child use it to their advantage. I believe that it is
important for children to have hands-on experiences. Children
learn and remember better when the experience
happens with them, instead of just taking notes from a lecture.
Therefore, I also believe in Howard Gardner's
theory. It is important to reach all aspects of learner
and everyone learns differently. Teachers should be role
models for their students. In several circumstances,
teachers are with the children more than the parents are.
Therefore, it is important to instill good values
and provide a good example for the students to follow. I feel that
it is important to be passionate about what I am teaching.
Enthusiasm rubs off on people. This passion and
enthusiasm will influence the lives of my students and my
hope is that it rubs off on them.
