Everyone has a
calling in life. My calling is to become a teacher. I will become an Elementary Education teacher. I have known this since I was small. I feel that becoming a teacher is a special gift that
one can get. I have been lucky enough to receive
this precious gift. Being able to see a spark
in a child’s mind is a fascinating experience, but being the one to put it
there
is truly rewarding.
I am a very dedicated individual who can relate well with children. I feel that a child learns effectively through experience
and letting his/her own mind work. Therefore,
it is up to the teacher to show the appropriate amount of affection toward
a child. The child can then display a sense of
trust for his or her teacher and give them their all.
My job as an educator is to simply guide a child and give them the
proper tools to become responsible adults. I
want to get parents and community members involved with a child’s education
as much as I am. This way it will teach the children
that they are truly special individuals.
When I tell people that I am becoming an elementary education teacher,
I feel a sense of accomplishment. I really enjoy
helping others and want to continue doing it throughout life. Being an educator is not an easy road to travel. I know that I can handle the harder path in life. Regardless of all of the extra time and effort that
needs to be given to a child I can handle it. After
all, education is called education for a reason; we are all continuing the
learning process throughout life.
My ultimate goal is to teach children for many
years, and one day have a student come back to me and say, “Miss Mitchell
you taught me how to…, or changed my life…, for that I thank you.” Even if I only have one student ever say that to
me, my whole career will be worth everything that I have worked so hard for.
