My Philosophy
of Teaching
| I
believe all students, no matter their race, color, creed or learning abilities,
have the ability to learn. All children deserve the right to a quality
education. As a future teacher, I believe it is my duty to make sure my
students feel that they are entering into an environment that is conducive
to learning when they enter my classroom. It is important that students
feel comfortable making mistakes in a classroom. Making mistakes are a part
of the learning process. We cannot grow as individuals if we do not make
mistakes. I also believe it is important to hold high expectations for all students. It is important to recognize that every child has a different style of learning and to try and teach to every students individual needs as much as possible. I believe that in order to be a successful teacher, I need to give every child the opportunity to learn and achieve to the best or his or her abilities and go beyond. As a teacher I will respect all of my learners and teach them to be respectful of their own learning as well. In order to create a community of learners in my classroom, I feel that it is important to model for my students appropriate behaviors that I expect from them. In order to create a successful learning environment, students and teacher need to work together as a team. Team effort is the key to success. I, Jennifer Johnson, am an individual who is committed to teaching the youth of our future and continuing my prusuit of life long learning. |
