and Tiger Eyes. Blume continues to be one of the most controversial
authors of this time. Most of her books have been challenged in both
Public and School libraries across the nation. Gratefully, most of
the challenges against Blume have been unsuccessful. By drawing so
much attention to this brilliant author the censors have not successfully
defeated Judy, instead they have make her and her works stronger. Judy
Blume writes humorous coming of age novels that have the potential to change
a readers life. Since the wave of censorship and banning has crossed
Blume's path she has chosen to fight back by becoming a activist against
the censorship of books. She is an active member of National Coalition
Against Censorship. Blume's thoughts and feelings can be found in Places
