  Education databases:

• ERIC, the Educational Resource Information Center, is a national information system supported by the U.S. Department of Education, the National Library of Education, and the Office of Educational Research and Improvement. It provides access to information from journals included in the Current Index of Journals in Education and Resources in Education Index. (on-campus access only).

• ProQuest Education Complete ~Contains more than 550 titles on education--including primary, secondary, and university-level topics--with nearly 300 in full text.

• Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe ~ Good source of company, organization and institutional information and news. Has very current information, such as transcripts and recently published news articles.

• WilsonSelectPlus - Covers the social sciences, humanities, business, general science, as well as current issues. Some full text available.

• Internet Nonprofit Center ~Lots of information about nonprofits, with a searchable database

• Hoover's Online ~A companion web site to the print collection. Good general information about specific companies.

• American FactFinder ~ Statistical data from the U.S. Census Bureau, plus articles of interest.

One of a very few sources of information on privately-held U.S. companies.

International Directory of Company Histories, ongoing collection, call number R 338.74 I61, multiple volumes

Probably the most comprehensive, exhaustive resource for the histories of large, well-known companies.

ValueLine Ratings and Reports, ongoing collection, call number R 332.63 V215, vol 1,2

Historical, detailed financial information about a company, especially as it pertains to stock market performance.

Contains information about company organizations, such as which company owns what other company or brand.
