Locating Articles with Library Resources
The following library databases cover music
as well as popular culture. Be sure to
evaluate
the sources in these databases before using them.
| Music Index Online | A database which covers over 600 music periodicals from 1979-1999. The print indexes covering 1958-1998 are also available, and are located at the end of the Reference collection - indexes are shelved alphabetically. There is no full text available. |
| Academic Search Elite | A general database that has limited coverage of music topics. The database contains both scholarly and popular journal sources, many in full text. |
| Periodical Abstracts | Information on a wide range of subjects, often in full text. |
Use Illinet Online to determine if the library owns the journal in print or microfilm, and check Journals and Magazines Available Online for electronic access to journals. If the article you seek is unavailable from these sources, please request it using our online Interlibrary Loan article request form.
