Finding Books

Use Illinet Online to find books held in the Elmhurst College library as well as books owned by 44 other Illinois academic libraries.

Sample Library of Congress Subject Headings:
- Euthanasia
- Assisted suicide
- Right to die

Ordering books from other libraries ~ Illinet Online allows you to request books held by 45 academic libraries in Illinois. Books will be sent to the Elmhurst College library
What if Illinet Online doesn't have the book I need? Request the book through interlibrary loan. Books will be sent to the Elmhurst College library.

To make sure you are finding scholarly journals in either of these databases, be sure to check the box "Peer Reviewed."

Then try these:

Periodical Abstracts (some full text)
Wilson Select (all full text)

How do I find out if the Elmhurst College Library has the journal I need?

Search for the journal title in Illinet Online, or use the card file next to the Reference Desk.

For example, search for the title Journal of African History.

If you don't find the journal you need, take a look at the list, Alphabetical List of Journals and Magazines Available Online, which is also available in the library. You can also call or email the Reference Department to inquire about a specific title or ask a question.
How can I order a photocopy of an article I can't find at Elmhurst College? Copies of articles will be sent to the Elmhurst College Library.
