- Academic
Search Complete : A general database that contains both scholarly
and popular journal sources, many in full text. Be sure to evaluate the sources in these databases before
using them.

- CQ Researcher: Search for reports on a variety of topics. Especially useful are the Pro/Con essays and the Next Step sections.

- Periodical
Abstracts: A general database that contains both scholarly and
popular journal sources, many in full text. Be sure to evaluate the sources in these databases before
using them.

- SAGE Journals Online: A
collection of approximately 450 peer-reviewed journals in full text,
covering such subject areas as business, the humanities, social
sciences, and science, technology and medicine.
|
- ScienceDirect: This database
accesses the full text of approximately 100 psychology journals from
1999 to the present. However, it indexes several thousand more journal
articles. Registration is free, and is required to access article text.
|
- SocIndex:
Contains more than 1,300,000 records as well as abstracts for over
2,500 journals, as well as conference papers, books, and monographs.
Topics covered include urban studies, anthropology, criminology and
criminal justice, ethnic and racial studies, marriage and the family,
social psychology, and sociological theory.

- Sociological Abstracts(1962-present):
A print reference source containing citations from
sociology journals. It is shelved on the lower level of the library in
the Indexes section (at the end of the bound periodicals).

determine if the library owns the journal in print or microfilm, and
check Journals
and Magazines Available Online for electronic access to journals.

and evaluations of Web pages and directories. See especially the
sections on aged care, death, euthanasia, hospices, insurance
(including HMO's and PPO's), long-term care, Medicaid/Medicare, and
patient advocacy, as well as other health topics. Try browsing the
subjects as well as using the search box to find information.
- INFOMINE:
Scholarly Internet Resource Collections - Biological, Agricultural and
Medical Sciences - This site has a subject browsing area as well as
a search box to find information on medical topics.
- The Annual Editions - Aging 07/08
textbook has a companion
Web site with links
to other Web pages that address various aspects of aging.
- Google
- This and other search engines may be useful for finding web sites.
