Download a Gradebook
with Excel
You may want to periodically
download grades into Excel or download a
record of your grades at the end of the
semester. To export your gradebook, follow
these steps:
1. Log onto Blackboard at
http://bb.elmhurst.edu.
2. Under Courses you are
teaching, click the link of the desired
course.
3. Click the "Control
Panel" button (the bottom-most button
located to the left of the screen).
4. Click on Gradebook.
5. Click on Download Grades
6. A list of instructions appears for PC
and Mac users and Internet Explorer and
Netscape Navigator users ... read through
the instructions and click the "Download"
button
7. Save the file to your computer (Pay attention
to where you are saving the file). You may
want to rename it to reflect the course
and date of download.
Once you have exported (downloaded)
your gradebook, open Excel or a similar
spreadsheet program.
The instructions below are
for Excel, but will be very similar regardless
of the spreadsheet program:
1. Open Excel
2. Go to file menu
3. Choose Open
4. Find where you put the file on your computer
5. Change the "files of type"
to "all files"
6. Double-click the name of the file and
it should open
7. Go to the file menu
8. Choose "Save as"
9. Change the "save as type" to
"Microsoft Excel workbook"
10. Click the save button
