Export Quiz Pool
Whenever you want to move
a pool of questions in one course to another
course, you have to use the "Export
Pool" page in one course, save the
data to disk or desktop, and then the "Import
Pool" page in another course. In both
courses, you will need to use the Control
Panel/Pool Manager.
1. Log onto Blackboard at
http://bb.elmhurst.edu.
2. Under Courses you are
teaching, click the link of the desired
course.
3. Click the "Control
Panel" button (the bottom-most button
located to the left of the screen).
4. Click on the "Pool
Manager" link.
5. When the "Pool Manager" page
appears, click on the "Export Pool"
button.
6. When the "Export Pool" page
appears, Look under the "1. Question
Pool to Export" and use the scroll
bar beside the "Pool to export select
box. Click on the name of the pool that
you want to move to another course. *
NOTE: You are not moving the actual pool
but only a copy of the pool.
7. Click on the "Submit" button
shown above to export the pool.
8. A window will then appear
informing you that you are ready to export.
You will click on the "Click here"
link shown below to download the exported
pool.
9. The "File Download" dialog
box will appear. Click on the "Save"
button to save the file on your computer.
10. When you the "Save as" dialog
box appears, you should save the file in
an easy-to-find location, such as your "desktop"
or "my documents" area. Click
on the "Export File" icon and
then the "Save" button.
11. After you have saved the file on your
desktop, you are ready to import that pool
file in your destination Blackboard course.
To do so, click on the "Control Panel"
link in your new course and enter the Pool
Manager. When the Pool Manager page appears,
click on the "Import Pool" button.
12. When the "Import Pool" page
appears, click on the "Browse"
button to select the file from your computer.
13. Your computer will display the "Choose
File" dialog box, which will automatically
search for the file in the last location
where you saved a file on your computer.
Thus you may have to click on the "Look
in" box to change the file location
to your "Desktop." At this point,
you should click on the "ExportFile"
name or icon and then the "Open"
button at the bottom of the dialog box.
14. The "Pool Import" page will
then display the name of the "ExportFile.zip"
file, so you should then click the "Submit"
button to complete the process.
15. The "Pool Import" page will
now display the successful receipt of the
pool into your destination course.
16. Now that you have imported your pool
to your destination course, you can return
to the Control Panel by clicking on the
link at the top of the page. You will then
be able to enter the "Quiz Manager"
to create a new quiz from the questions
in the question pool.
Export Quiz Pool
