  • August 20, 2002 ~ We are now open. To enter the library, use the temporary exit located on the south side of the library (between the library and Irion Hall, by the 20-minute parking spots). A book drop slot is available in the entryway.

    ~
We will be moving into the library building on Monday, August 19; therefore, there will be no library services available.

However, feel free to come in and visit us on the 20th! Starting Tuesday, August 20, the newly renovated library will be open to the public. Our hours from August 20-24 will be as follows:

    Tuesday - Thursday 8 a.m. - 10:30 p.m.
    Friday-Saturday 8 a.m. - 9 p.m.

Starting on Sunday, August 25, we will be open our normal hours, which are:

    Monday - Thursday 8 a.m. - 12 a.m.
    Friday-Saturday 8 a.m. - 9 p.m.
    Sunday 12 p.m. - 12 a.m.

Online requesting is still not available on Illinet Online. If you want to request a book, fill out an online form. The capability to search the holdings of all the libraries simultaneously is not yet available; to find out if other institutions own materials, you should search the holdings of the individual institution.

  • August 6, 2002 ~ Our hours for the first half of August are as follows:

    Monday - Friday 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
    Saturday and Sunday CLOSED

We will be open in the evenings again starting on August 19th.
Most ILCSO holdings can now be viewed through the new version of Illinet Online, but a few are still inaccessible.
  • July 18, 2002 ~ The Books page (through which you may access Illinet Online) has changed. Because we are getting a new version of Illinet Online, there are now two links available for checking the online catalog. The link to the new version is available for previewing, but does not contain information on other institutions. The link to the old version does look at holdings information for other schools, but has been frozen (which means it has not been updated). Please choose accordingly.
There is now an extensive fence around the parking lot in front of the library, blocking off the walkway past the library. To get to the temporary library, follow the signs for the temporary library offices; they will lead you to the entrance of CSTC. Once the school year has begun, the temporary entrance located on the south side of the library building (next to Irion Hall) will be available.
We are still open to current Elmhurst faculty, staff, and students only -- if you do not fit into any of these categories, please save yourself the trip and try to use other libraries in the area.
In addition to the photos of the exterior construction on the Photos page, there are photos of the interior construction available through the Elmhurst College Facilities Management web site.

  • July 3, 2002 ~ As of 5pm today, the "Request First Available Copy" button of Illinet Online will be turned off until further notice. This means you will not be able to order books through Illinet Online. To request a book, please fill out an online form, or come to the Renovation Library and fill out a book request form.
Also, please note that we will be closed Thursday, July 4, and Friday, July 5, for the holiday. We will reopen for our regular hours on Saturday, July 6.

  • June 5, 2002 ~ The library's bookdrop is now inaccessible. To return books, either bring them to the renovation library during our regular hours, or put them in the drop slot of the Instructional Media Center, CSTC room 109.

  • May 22, 2002 ~ The library closed for the renovation on May 18th. On May 28th, library services will re-open for Elmhurst College faculty, students, and staff ONLY. Our new location will be in CSTC rooms 212 and 213, on the second floor. Our hours will be as follows:
Monday - Thursday 9 a.m. - 10:30 p.m.
Friday - Saturday 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Sunday 12 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.

The book drop will be available in the lobby until further notice.
