Mike Pinto

Well-versed in a multitude of styles, Mike Pinto is in demand as a guitarist, composer, and arranger in Chicago and internationally. He performs and records regularly with many artists and groups including Crawl, Auraphone, the Renegades, Kosher Curry, Dayna Malow, the Tom Matta Big Band, and Mark Colby, among others. He has performed at major festivals and conferences in Italy, France, Germany, England, Malta, and Croatia, and he has performed with such artists and groups as Jeff Hamilton, Luciana Souza, Jen Hartswick (Trey Anastasio Band), Joel Cummins and Kris Myers (Umphrey's McGee), Peter Himmelman, Regis Philbin, and the Alabama Symphony Orchestra. Pinto is also an active composer and arranger with numerous professional and educational commissions to his credit.

Pinto holds an undergraduate degree from Elmhurst College and a master's degree from DePaul University. As an instructor at Elmhurst College, he teaches guitar, improvisation, and arranging, and he also directs the Lab Band, the Gretsch Electric Guitar Ensemble, the Electric Guitar Collective, and a jazz combo.
