Elmhurst Theatre Presents Jean Racine’s ‘Phaedra’

Phaedra, the unforgettable tale of illicit passion and a power struggle that threatens to destroy the Athenian royal family of ancient Greece, will open on November 14 at Elmhurst College’s Mill Theatre.

The Jean Racine classic is rich with powerful poetry, and its story of political rivalry and lethal sexual jealousy makes for a shocking and memorable evening of theatre. Phaedra is translated by Richard Wilbur and directed by Elmhurst College Associate Professor and Director of Theatre Janice Pohl.

Phaedra will be performed Thursday, November 14, through Saturday, November 16, and Thursday, November 21, through Saturday, November 23, at 8:00 p.m., as well as on Sunday, November 24, at 2:00 p.m. in the Mill Theatre. General admission is $7, students are $5, and seniors, faculty and staff are $6.

The box office is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
