Professionals who are between jobs or considering a “next chapter” in their career are invited to attend an Over 40 & Hired informational workshop, Networking in Today’s Job Market, on Saturday, February 22, at Elmhurst College.
Hosted by Elmhurst College’s School for Professional Studies and the Career Transitions Center of Chicago, Networking in Today’s Job Market will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Founders Lounge of the Frick Center. This event is open to the public; admission is $10 per person and includes a full breakfast.
Networking is considered one of the most successful and essential tools to career success, yet is one of the least understood and most feared parts of a job search or ongoing career management. Networking in Today’s Job Market will help participants build and utilize a valuable professional network. Career Transitions Center coach and Executive Director Anita Jenke will discuss how to create and use a values statement (elevator pitch) that will help attendees better brand and position themselves on a résumé and LinkedIn profile, and how to develop meaningful professional relationships for greater distinction.
Since 1997, the Career Transitions Center of Chicago has facilitated job and career transitions for more than 6,000 professionals in and beyond the Chicagoland area.
