Social Justice

Get Involved

Students at Elmhurst College can get involved in social justice activities at the Niebuhr Center for Faith and Action in a variety of ways.

For starters, the Center sponsors six social justice internships. Over the course of a full academic year, social justice interns research and address real-world problems such as sex trafficking, mental health issues on Native American Reservations, or civil rights.

You can also get involved in less time-intensive social justice activities, including:

  • Courses that focus on social justice issues
  • Internships at advocacy organizations such as Arise Chicago, Breakthrough Ministries or the Resurrection Project
  • Mission trips or service projects such as Habitat for Humanity
  • International service projects
  • Intern with government agencies to help promote political change
