Watch It Live
Spring Commencement 2016 can be viewed live online at www.bluejaytv.com. Coverage begins at 9:00 a.m. for the undergraduate ceremony and at 12:00 noon for the graduate ceremony.
Undergraduate Commencement is scheduled to take place on the Elmhurst College Campus Mall. In case of severe weather, the ceremony will be held in R.A. Faganel Hall. This information will be available after 7:30 a.m. on May 28 by calling (630) 516-2000 or by checking this website.
Tickets for undergraduate Commencement guests are not needed if the ceremony is held outdoors on the Elmhurst College Campus Mall. If severe weather prevents an outdoor ceremony, we will move to R.A. Faganel Hall. Because indoor seating is limited, each graduate will receive three guest tokens during the Grad Finale.
Accessible parking and seating will be available; check this site in May for a parking map.
To purchase a DVD of the Commencement ceremony, visit BlueJayTV.com.
A professional photographer will take two pictures of each graduate. Ordering information will be available to you a couple of days after the ceremony. You may contact GradImages at (800) 261-2576.
Graduation Announcements and Class Rings
Formal graduation announcements and class rings may be purchased at the Book Cellar in Goebel Hall. For other Commencement accessories, contact the Book Cellar directly at (630) 617-3185.
At the end of June, a copy of your final transcript (for your records), indicating your course grades, degree, major(s), minor and honors, will be mailed to you free of charge, compliments of the Elmhurst College Alumni Association. Requests for additional transcripts may be made through the Office of Registration and Records. Transcripts are released only if financial obligations to the College have been satisfied.
Tuition and Fee Payment
Financial obligations to the College must be satisfied in order for your degree to be awarded. You are encouraged to contact the Office of Student Financial Services at (630) 617-3015 with questions regarding the discharge of financial obligations.
Graduates Not Attending Commencement
Graduates may pick up their diplomas starting June 1, 2016. Unclaimed diplomas will be mailed to the student at the address on file starting June 6, 2016.
e-Commencement Attendance Request
Accessed through BlueNet under "My Graduation Process" this lists your name and degree (as they will appear on your diploma) and your major(s) as it will appear on the Commencement program. It is also used for ordering your cap and gown. Please review this information, correct if necessary and electronically submit back to our office no later than February 10, 2016.
Ordering Caps and Gowns
You will order your cap and gown through Jostens, and they are yours to keep. The link to their ordering website is on the Elmhurst College Portal located under the "Commencement" tab and is highlighted in red. Orders will be taken from January 8 through February 10, 2016. Pick up of regalia will be at the Grad Finale on April 6 or April 7.
Join us in the Frick Center on April 6 (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.) or April 7 (11 a.m. to 7 p.m.). The Grad Finale is your chance to pick up your cap and gown; settle your account; purchase graduation announcements, rings and diploma frames; have GradImages take professional photos; visit with the Office of Alumni Relations; complete your grad survey; and ask the Office of Registration and Records any final questions.
All undergraduates must check in at Hammerschmidt Memorial Chapel on May 28 between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m., prior to Baccalaureate. Graduate students check in at Hammerschmidt between 1:00 and 2:00 p.m. All graduates are required to check in with the Registrar.
Baccalaureate for Undergraduates
The baccalaureate service is a private moment for graduating undergraduates during which they, the president, the dean and the chaplain reflect on the meaning of an Elmhurst College education. It takes place at 9:00 a.m. on May 28 in Hammerschmidt Memorial Chapel. Attendance is mandatory. Graduates should wear their caps and gowns to Baccalaureate.
Senior grades are due on the web May 24, 2016. Prospective graduates who fail Spring Term 2016 courses and do not meet minimum graduate requirements will be informed by May 28, 2016, that they are being removed from the May 2016 graduation listing.
All "incompletes" ("I" grades) must be resolved and submitted to the Office of Registration and Records by May 5. This deadline supersedes any date made with individual instructors. Students will not be allowed to graduate if "incompletes" remain on the record, including any received during Spring Term 2016.
