Bridge to College Program, Fall Term 2016

This fall, Access and Disability Services, the Learning Center, and the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders are collaborating to offer a pilot program, Bridge to College. The goal of the program is to provide small group and individualized support and instruction to undergrad students transitioning to college to assist their success.

The program will require 15 hours of student contact-time with professional staff or mentors:

  • 1, one-hour individual needs assessment planning session with Access and Disability Services Coordinator before the beginning of fall term
  • 8, one-hour group meetings with professional staff with a focus on specific skill development
  • 6, 45-minute individual meetings with graduate student mentors
  • Joint meeting with staff and student mentors

To participate, students must be registered with Elmhurst College’s Access and Disability Services. A nominal fee of $300.00 will be assessed. For more information, contact Dr. Corinne Smith at or Dr. Victoria Jay at
