Exams: There will be three in-class exams and a cumulative final exam.

Exam Forgiveness Policy: All exams must be taken in class on the announced dates (tentatively scheduled for March 3, April 7 and May 5). If you take all three regular exams as scheduled, then the lowest one of the three scores will be replaced by your percentage score on the final exam, if this is to your benefit.

You will not be allowed to take any exam early or late for any reason (even a really, really, really good reason). If you miss any of the regular exams, your percentage score on the final exam will serve as your score for the missed exam(s), and only the missed one(s) will be replaced.

Quizzes: Beginning February 10th, there will be a quiz almost every Wednesday. If you miss a quiz, you will receive a 0 for that quiz. No makeup quizzes will be permitted for any reason (even a really, really, really good reason). Your lowest two quiz grades will be dropped at the end of the semester.

Homework: Homework assignments will be given each night. I will usually not collect the homework, but I reserve the right to do so. Any collected homework assignment grades will either be included in the quiz grade or counted as extra credit. For homework problems, you are welcome to use whatever technology you feel comfortable with and are strongly encouraged to work with other students, come to homework help hours, and visit the math tutors.

Homework Checks: Before each quiz, we will have a homework check. A full explanation of homework checks is on the following page. It is strongly recommended that you keep an organized notebook of your homework. No calculators or books will be allowed during a homework check. If you miss a homework check, you will receive a 0 for it. No makeup homework checks will be permitted for any reason (even a really, really, really good reason). Your lowest two homework check grades will be dropped at the end of the semester.

Project: There will be a semester-long project to be completed outside of class. It will be an application of the statistical methods that you will learn this semester.
