Elmhurst College
Athletic Facilities

Elmhurst College takes pride in having one of the best athletic facilities in the CCIW.

Outdoor Facilities

Langhorst Field serves as the College's primary outdoor facility. The field,
surrounded by an all-weather, rubberized track, is home to the football, soccer and track and field programs. Completely renovated in 2002, the field now has the latest generation in synthetic turf. The new surface is safer and more durable than other synthetic and even natural surfaces. In addition to the new playing surface, the Langhorst Field improvements included a new scoreboard, a new decorative fence on the north side of the facility and a Legacy Wall (listing all of Elmhurst College's head football and soccer coaches) on the north side of the press box. The movement of the Victory Bell to the northwest corner of the field and an expanded Richardson Locker Room were also part of plan. Other facilities that feature AstroPlayŽ include New York Giants Stadium, Memorial Stadium at the University of Illinois, and the fields at the University of North Carolina and Oklahoma State University.

In the springtime, the softball team places its home games on an on campus softball diamond and the baseball team calls nearby Butterfield Park its home. Butterfield Park has undergone substantial upgrades over the past few years including: a new warning track, a resodded infield, windscreens covering the surrounding fencing, expanded bleachers, a new scoreboard and enlarged dugouts. Last season, construction of a press box was completed as well.

The men's and women's tennis teams also have a new facility to call home. The Lester Brune tennis courts were officially dedicated on September 27, 2003. The tennis complex features six courts complete with windscreens, landscaping and a central viewing area to catch the action on all six courts. The courts are open to the public when not in use by the Elmhurst College tennis teams.

Indoor Facilities

R.A. Faganel Hall serves as the home arena for men's and women's basketball, women's volleyball, as well as wrestling meets

Faganel Hall also features three handball/racquetball courts, equipment rooms for athletic and recreation equipment, and a laundry room for laundering practice and competition gear.
