   February 7, 2004 - The men's and women's indoor track teams returned to action this week by competing at the University of Chicago Duals. No team scores were kept at the event.
     
The women's side of the meet was highlighted by a pair of first-place finishes. Kathleen Brice (Elk Grove Village-Elk Grove) won the 3,000 meters with a time of 10:42.22 while Krista Phelps (LaCrosse, Wis.-Central) placed first in the 5,000 meters with a time of 19:01.96.

On the men's side, John Hartmann (Woodruff, Wis.-Wauconda) highlighted the meet by winning the high jump with a mark of 1.92 meters. Other top finishers included Craig Tiede (Woodridge-Downers Grove South) placing third in the 3,000 meters (8:58.74) while Justin Stevens (Springfield-Auburn) earned a third-place finish in the 5,000 meters by crossing the finish line in 15:50.83. Cedric Jones (Grand Prairie, Texas-Sam Houston) also scored a top-five finish by placing fifth in the 55 meter dash in 6.76 seconds.

The Bluejays have the weekend off and will return to action at the Chicagoland Indoor Championships at Lewis University on February 20-21.
