OUTDOOR TRACK TEAMS RUN AT CHICAGOLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS

   April 10, 2004- The men's and women's outdoor track teams both competed at the Chicagoland Outdoor Championships at North Central College. The men's team placed 10th with 32 points while the women's team finished 13th with 11 points.

On the men's side, the day was highlighted by Craig Tiede (Woodridge-Downers Grove South) winning the 5,000 meters in 15:02.96 and John Hartmann (Woodruf, Wis.-Wauconda) winning the high jump crown after clearing a height of 1.98 meters. Ryan Schaefer (Skokie-Niles North) scored a fifth-place finish in the steepelchase with a time of 9:47.3. Cedric Jones (Grand Prarie, Texas/Sam Houston) placed fifth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.13 seconds. Justin Stevens (Springfield-Auburn) scored points in the 10,000 meters by placing seventh in 32:32.81.

On the women's side, the Bluejays received five points from Erin Brice's (Elk Grove Village-Elk Grove) fourth place finish in the 10,000 meters. Brice crossed the finish line in 38:10.21. Krista Phelps (LaCrosse, Wis.-LaCrosse Central) accounted for the final six points by placing third in the 5,000 meters, finishing in 18:27.80.

The Bluejays host the Elmhurst College Intercollegiate Invitational this Saturday, April 17.
