ERIN BRICE PROVISIONALLY QUALIFIES FOR NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS April 23, 2004- The men's and women's outdoor track teams ran continued the 2004 season by running at the Gina Invitational at Hillsdale College and at the North Central College "Old Fashion Track Meet." No team scores were kept at either event. At the Gina Invitational, Erin Brice (Elk Grove Village-Elk Grove) became the first NCAA qualifier for the Bluejay women's team b by placing second with a time of 36:45.63. Krista Phelps (LaCrosse, Wis.-LaCrosse Central) turned in a personal best time of 17:56 to place 18th in the 5,000 meters. At the North Central Invite on the men's side, John Hartmann (Woodruff, Wis.-Wauconda) won the high jump and by clearing a height of 1.91 meters. Cedric Jones (Grand Prairie, Texas-Sam Houston) scored a top-three finish in the 100 meters by placing third in 11.12 seconds. The Bluejays will run at the Cardinal Classic at North Central College on May 1. |
