   May 8, 2004- The men's and women's outdoor track teams competed this weekend at the CCIW Championships in Bloomington. The men's team placed seventh with 24.5 points while the women's team placed eighth with 25 points.

The women's team was led by Erin Brice (Elk Grove Village-Elk Grove), who won the 10,000 meters in 39:28.59 and added an all-conference honor by placing second in the 5,000 meters in 18:44.08.

Allison Swade (Downers Grove-South) earned all-CCIW honor in the 1,500 meters by placing fifth in 4:53.32. Krista Phelps (LaCrosse, Wis.-Central) also added an all-CCIW honor by placing sixth in the 5,000 meters in 19:15.88.

On the men's side several Bluejays captured all-conference honors. Cedric Jones (Grand Prairie, Texas-Sam Houston) turned in a third-place finish in the 100 meters with a time of 10.9 seconds. John Hartmann (Woodruff, Wis.-Wauconda) tied for third in the high jump with a mark of 19.5 meters. Brian Keaton (Crete/Crete-Monee) scored a fifth place finish in the discuss throw with a toss of 42.98 meters.

Craig Tiede (Woodridge-Downers Grove South) placed sixth in the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:49.39 while Ryan Schaefer (Skokie-Niles North) finished sixth finished the steeplechase in 9:46.46, good for sixth place.
