Portfolio Development for Writing Majors

making the grade

I will calculate final grades according to the following percentages:
 

Portfolio	50%	graded according to individual contract
Draft Workshops	10%	present your portfolio work on at least three workshop dates; prepare and present critiques for other students
Steering the Craft (exercises and workshops)	10%	complete weekly exercises and readings (as assigned); respond to classmates' writing; generally contribute to the conversation
Writers' Resources	10%	one short research project and presentation w/ handout
Writers' Lives	10%	read two texts and prepare handouts for class
Reflective Letter	10%

I reserve the right to reduce a student's final grade for excessive absences.
