English 540: Capstone (Spring 2002)

Course Description
In English 540, you will implement a capstone project which explores aspects of reading
and writing in and beyond the workplace. You will refine your project proposal,
complete the project, and explore opportunities to share your work with various
professional and scholarly discourse communities. Finally, you will present the
results of your research through a variety of media, including written texts and public
presentations.
The objectives of English 540 are
to become acquainted with issues and strategies of workplace writing research
to explore and participate in professional discourse communities through a variety of media
to understand and apply the principles and processes of writing for professional publication
to design, research, and implement a siginificant written project to culminate the Master of Arts in Professional Writing
to present capstone project results to a multi-tiered audience of scholars and professionals
