A student student interested in a career as a secondary school chemistry teacher should maintain close contact with both the Chemistry and Education Departments to assure completion of major requirements and requirements for teacher certification by the State of Illinois.

Students must apply for admission to education programs. Students must complete the Basic Skills Test and meet minimum GPA requirements to be admitted into the secondary certification program.
