Use font size, italic, bold, and underline the same way you would in your word processor.
I put in this line by clicking on the "H. Line" button on the tool
bar:
Tables are great for arranging text on a web page.
Don't use tabs! Internet browsers do not read tabs
consistently.
| Click on Insert, Table to create a table. You can use the automatic settings to get started. | You can change your table formatting in Format, Table
Properties.
Increasing the "cell padding" puts some white space around the text in each cell. |
You can make lists inside your table:
|
You can change the width of the table by dragging its outside edges. |
|
Use Format, Align. |
Press Tab in the last cell of a table to add a new row. |
You can still type outside the table.
To change background and text colors, go to Format, Page Colors and Properties. Click on the tab for Colors and Background. Be kind to readers when choosing color combinations--you want your page to be readable, and not hurt anybody's eyes. :-)
| This text is actually in another table--even though I didn't
want any columns, I used this table to control the width of the text so
that people with small monitors (like I have in my office) or weird browsers
can still get a reasonable line length.
This horizontal line is inside the table, so its length is controlled by the width of the table. |
| The table border is invisible because I set the border line width to zero. You can do this in Format, Table Properties. |
