Dr.
Michael Lindberg,
Associate Professor and Department Chair
Dr. Lindberg attended
Elmhurst College to receive his B.A. and
then earned his M.A. from the
University of
Wyoming. He then went on to the
University
of Manitoba to obtain his Ph.D.
His teaching and research interests include military
geography, political geography, economic geography, biogeography, Canada and Scandinavia. Dr. Lindberg is
also an accomplished author with four books to his credit.
Dr. Lindberg is the Director of Freshmen Advising and the First-Year Seminar Program.

Dr.
Richard Schultz,
Associate Professor
Dr. Richard
Schultz earned his B.S. from
Illinois State University and his M.S. from
Wichita
State University. He then attended the
University of Cincinnati, were he earned
his Ph.D. in Environmental Geochemistry.
His teaching and research interests include geology, weather and climate, online teaching, GIS, and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL). Dr. Schultz's Home Page

Carmi Neiger,
Assistant Professor
Mr. Neiger earned his B.A. from
Brandeis
University and a M.Arch (Masters in Architecture) from the
University of Illinois at Chicago. He is
currently working on his Ph.D. in Geography at
Northern Illinois University
Carmi comes to Elmhurst after a long career working in the private sector. He was among the early users and advocates of computer-aided design software while working as an architect at Skidmore, Owings and Merrill in Chicago. He was introduced to computer-based mapping and geographic information systems (GIS) during that technology's infancy. Carmi's primary research interests are racial and ethnic residential segregation, historical geography of the Industrial Revolution, and spatial statistics.
