advance, and bring to class 2/27 a draft of a mini-essay (about 2 pages, double spaced) about your opinion on this issue. We will have an in-class discussion that day. The draft is 5 points, participating in the discussion is 5 points, the final essay is 10 points. (See grading guide here. Cite all sources at the end of the document. For on-line sources follow the American Chemical Society (ACS) guidelines found here: http://www.cofc.edu/~chem/seminar/492/citing.html For print sources (such as the text) any standard format will do (MLA, ACS, etc.) (See A. C. Buehler Library College Writing and Citing Guide). Also cite sources within the mini-essays, using a parenthetical notation. A simple clear paranthetical reference such as (text, p. xx), (www.epa.gov/oar) or (Jones, 1998) will suffice.
