What I do...

Teach music theory, history, & composition at Elmhurst College
Teach at Madras Christian College in fall 2009 as part of a new faculty exchange program between Elmhurst and MCC (visit my blog)
Take students to Chennai & Delhi to study Indian music (visit the 2010 course web page or the 2007 course blog)!
Play with my Macintosh, composing music and creating multimedia resources
Spend as much time as I can (never enough) with my wife, Virginia Dixon
Travel to find woods, water, mountains...and grandchildren Skiaya, Kele-De, and Tannas as often as possible
Sing in the choir and worship at Christ Community Church in Wheaton, IL (formerly Geneva Road Baptist Church)
Active in College Music Society (Campus Representative, program committee for 2009 International Conference in Croatia, co-chaired the 2008 “Two Greats” Super-Regional Conference) and Association for Technology in Music Instruction
Embarrassed to discover that...I really like opera
Wish I could be...watching the weather come in over Lake Superior
