Now the proton beam has traveled from the Tevatron or Main Ring (Main Accelerator) and is entering an area called NM2, Neutrino Muon Building #2. This area will be broken into 3 sections:
This is where the beam has left the Tevatron and has traveled into the NM2 Hall Area. The beam is being guided and aligned by various magnets to the Target Area of the NM2 Hall.
This is where the beam hits the target and decays into various particles. One of the particles that is created is the kaon particle.
The beam which contains the kaon particles is guided down this area by magnets and travels to KTeV Hall.
