       This is a first reader book about Aladar from the movie Dinosaur and his friend.
       Pre-K-3rd

2.    Can I Have a Stegosaurs Mom? Lois G. Grambling, BridgeWater Books, 1995.
       This book is about a boy who wants a stegosaurus for a house pet, beautiful pictures.
       PreK-1st

3.    The Field Mouse and the Dinosaur Named Sue, Jan Wahl, Cartwheel Books, 2000.
       This story is about a cute little mouse that describes his adventures living in a dinosaur museum. 1st grade and up.

4.    Aladar’s Story, Kathleen Zoefeld, Disney Press, 2000.
       This is another story about Aladar from the Disney movie, excellent pictures.
       Pre-K-3rd

5.   A Night in the Dinosaur Graveyard, A.J. Wood, Templar, 1994.
      This book is a prehistoric ghost story with nine spooky holograms.
      1st-3rd

6.   Dinosaur World, Christoher Santoro, Random House, 1997.
      A very colorful story that describes a man’s journey through time as he also provides facts. This
      book has over 70 flaps children can search through. K-3rd

7.    Buster’s Dino Dilemma, Marc Brown, Little, Brown and Company, 1998.
      Arthur and Buster go on a dinosaur adventure.  This is a chapter book good for 1st-3rd grades.

8.    Dinosaur Roar, Paul and Henrietta Stickland, Dutton Children’s Book, 1997.
       This is a board book that uses dinosaurs to describe opposites.  This is a good book for very
       young children with special needs.

9.    I Love Dinosaurs, Michael Berenstain’s, Golden Books, 1996.
      This book has four stories in one, which provides some factual information with pictures that
      are very cartoon like. 1st –3rd

10.   Dinofours, Steve Metzgar, Cartwheel Books, 1997.
        This story talks about the procedure for a fire drill at the dinosaur’s school.

11.    The Lost World, Jennifer Dussling, Grosset & Dunlap, 1997.
This is a chapter book based on the movie The Lost World.  The appropriate age group would
be 2nd and 3rd graders.

12.    The Magic School Bus: In The Time of Dinosaurs, Joanna Cole, Scholastic Inc., 1994.
This book is based on the same show.  The Magic School Bus travels back in time to visit the
dinosaurs. 1st-3rd

13.    Curious George and The Dinosaur, Margret Rey, Houghton Mifflin, 1989.
Curious George goes to the dinosaur museum.  George gets in trouble for climbing the dinosaurs.
PreK-1st

14.    Danny and the Dinosaur, Syd Hoff, HarperFestival, 1958.
This is a classic story about a boy and a dinosaur that he wants to keep as a pet.  The dinosaur
explains why the museum is his home. PreK-1st

15.    How Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight? Jane Yolen, Random House, 1999.
A very sweet story about how different types of dinosaurs might say goodnight to their parents.

NON-FICTION BOOKS

1.    Walking With Dinosaurs: Photo Journal, Stephen Cole, Dorling Kindersley, 2000.
This is a DK book, which gives facts on dinosaurs and lets the children discover different climates
that dinosaurs live in. K-3rd

2.    Searching for Velociraptor, Lowell Dingus, HarperCollins, 1996.
This book only talks about this particular dinosaur and shows archeologists tools and on site
pictures from other dinosaur digs. K-3rd

3.    Hunt for the Past: My Life as an Explorer, Sue Hendrickson, Cartwheel Books, 2001.
This is the story of Sue Hendrickson, the women who discovered “SUE.”  This is a chapter
book, great for 1st-3rd grades.

4.    The Reign of the Dinosaurs, Jean-Guy Michard, Discovery, 1992.
This is not a book children could read easily but contains many great pictures of fossils and
dinosaur digs. K and up.

5.    Dinosaurs, Peter Zallinger, Random House, 1977.
Dinosaurs have cartooned like pictures but gives facts one many different types of dinosaurs,
fossils, and where they used to live. K-2nd

6.    Learn About Dinosaurs, Leap Frog, 1990.
This is a small book, which gives a short definition on 10 dinosaurs along with a picture.

7.    Dinosaurs, Gail Gibbons, Scholastic Inc., 1987.
This is a cartoon pictured book that gives definitions and facts on an assortment of dinosaurs.
K-1st

8.    Glow-in-the-Dark Dinosaur Skeletons, Annie Ingle, Random House, 1993.
This is a glow-in-the-dark book.  When holding the book in a dark room a child will be able
to observe the skeletons of the dinosaurs. K-3rd


9. How Tough Was a Tyrannosaurus: Fascinating Facts, Paul C. Sereno, Grosset & Dunlap, 1989.
This book addresses question specific to T-Rex like what food he ate, where he lived, and who
were his enemies. K-2rd
    
10. Fascinating Facts: Dinosaurs, (Encyclopedia Britannica), Publications International, LTD., 1992.
This book is an encyclopedia on dinosaurs that entails people who have discovered dinosaurs,
where they were found, and what their traits were. 1st and up.

11. The Child’s World Series (15 books in all), Janet Riehecky, Child’s World, 195This is a series of 15 books.  Each book investigates in great detail on individual dinosaurs covering all aspects of them. 1st and up.


12. Know It All Dinosaur, Jay Johnson, McClanahan Books Company, 1999.
    This dinosaur books gives age appropriate definitions, where dinosaurs lived (with a map), and
what they eat. 1st & 2nd grades

13. National Geographic Dinosaurs, Paul Barrett, National Geographic, 1999.
This is one of many magazines from National Geographic on dinosaurs but a teacher needs
to be careful, sometimes other articles and pictures are inappropriate for children. 2nd and higher.

14. Time Traveler, Michael Novacek, HarperCollins, 2000.
    This story travels back in time to address questions a little boy has about dinosaurs.  1st-3rd

15.    Dinosaurs: Big & Small, Kathleen Zoehfed, Disney Press, 2000.
This is another book from the movie Dinosaur that compares sizes of the dinosaurs.  It is very colorful with realistic pictures. 1st – 3rd
